The Northtown Garden Society was founded in 1982 by a group of neighbors caring for gardens or greenhouses with a mission to share ideas and learn more about gardening.
As we have grown over the years, our mission has expanded to provide gardening education and community service to the residents of West Ridge, located on the far north side of Chicago, and surrounding neighborhoods.
Throughout the year, we sponsor a variety of lectures or visits to Chicago-area gardens or garden-related businesses.
Our community service projects include:
Maintaining the Triangle Garden in Indian Boundary Park
Maintaining the Friendship Garden in Warren Park
Maintaining the Green Room in the Warren Park Field House
Sponsoring a Garden Walk in West Ridge and surrounding neighborhoods
Sponsoring a Spring Plant Sale
Sponsoring gardening at area schools
Sponsoring children for Warren Park summer camp
